Inspired by the quiet colors and rhythms of the natural landscape, Calm Ground brings together soft greens, warm earth tones, and gentle blues within a Jogakbo composition. The layered geometry suggests fields, pathways, and distant horizons, inviting a sense of balance and stillness.
Created from translucent Mosi (Korean ramie) using traditional Korean patchwork techniques called Gamchiljil(Whip stitich). This piece transforms with changing light, revealing subtle textures and luminous color relationships throughout the day.

Techniques: Jogakbo, Ssamsol (flat-felled seam)
Technique Note:
This piece is constructed using the traditional Korean Ssamsol seam, in which the raw edges are enclosed within the seam. As a result, the textile has no distinct front or back, allowing light to pass through beautifully from either side.
About Mosi( Korean Ramie)
Mosi (Korean ramie) is a traditional handwoven fabric made from the bast fibers of the ramie plant, a perennial member of the nettle family cultivated in Korea for centuries. Known for its long, silky fibers, ramie produces a textile that is exceptionally light, breathable, and cool to the touch, with a natural luster that grows softer over time while retaining remarkable strength.

Crafted from natural fibers imported from South Korea, each textile reflects a rich material tradition. Over time, ramie and silk may gently soften in tone and texture — a natural process that adds depth and authenticity.
