Inspired by the gentle colors of early summer, this Jogakbo pairs soft greens, sky blues, and rosy pinks within a field of luminous white Mosi. The composition evokes fresh foliage, clear skies, and the quiet abundance of the season.
Materials: Mosi (Korean ramie), cotton thread
Techniques: Jogakbo, Ssamsol (flat-felled seam)
Technique Note:
This piece is constructed using the traditional Korean Ssamsol seam, in which the raw edges are enclosed within the seam. As a result, the textile has no distinct front or back, allowing light to pass through beautifully from either side.
About Mosi( Korean Ramie)
Mosi (Korean ramie) is a traditional handwoven fabric made from the bast fibers of the ramie plant, a perennial member of the nettle family cultivated in Korea for centuries. Known for its long, silky fibers, ramie produces a textile that is exceptionally light, breathable, and cool to the touch, with a natural luster that grows softer over time while retaining remarkable strength.
